The National Public Housing Museum is committed to designing our programming, events, and exhibitions to be as inclusive and accessible as possible for all guests.
Planning Your Visit
Wheelchair Access
The museum’s main entrance on S. Ada St. is wheelchair accessible.
All floors are wheelchair accessible by elevator and all exhibits are wheelchair accessible.
Restrooms located on the lower level include an accessible stall and a single stall. Second and Third floor restrooms are accessible single stalls.
Service Animals
Service animals are always welcome at the National Public Housing Museum.
Please refrain from bringing pets into the museum, as they distract other animals that are working. Pets allowed in the sculpture garden.
There are live birds in a cage in the Hatch Family Apartment as part of the apartment tour.
If this is an issue, please alert staff who can remove them for the duration of your tour.
Audio Guides
Audio devices are available at the welcome desk.
QR codes can be scanned on your smartphone and with provided audio devices.
Audio Transcripts
All videos with audio have both English and Spanish captions.
Transcripts are available for audio-only experiences.
American Sign Language
All guided tours can be available in ASL.

The National Public Housing Museum is a bilingual museum. All exhibition text is available in both English and Spanish.

We are working to expand our available languages for tours and exhibitions.

Large print guides of the exhibits are available to check out for free at our welcome desk.
A font size of at least 16 pt is used for all major label text.
Free Tour Tickets
Admission to the museum is pay as you wish. Ticketed Historic Apartment Tours are free to visitors with disabilities and one companion.
All Gender Restrooms
All restrooms at the National Public Housing Museum are available to all visitors. Single-stall restrooms are available on the Lower Level, Second and Third floors.
