When will construction for the Museum’s permanent space begin? When will the new building open?

The National Public Housing Museum broke ground on October 11 at our permanent future home in the last remaining building of the historic Jane Addams Homes, located at 1322 W Taylor, Chicago, IL. We will open to the public later this year (2024).

What is the location and office hours for the Museum?

We are located at 625 N. Kingsbury St. in a shared office space located on the corner of Kingsbury and Ontario. Visiting hours for the Evicted exhibition are Thursdays & Fridays, 12-6 and Saturdays & Sundays, 12-5.

Is there parking by the Museum office?

There is ample metered street parking surrounding  625 North Kingsbury, as well as a public parking lot at 520 N. Kingsbury that charges $12 per hour at the corner of Grand and Kingsbury, just one block south of our offices.

You can also reach us from the Grand (65) or Chicago (66) buses, as well as the Grand Blue Line.

Can I access the National Public Housing Museum’s archives for research?

For all research needs, please contact us at info@nphm.org to discuss specifications of your studies and we will be happy to assist you further.
