A Closer Look at the Importance of Fair Housing
Celebrate Human Rights Day by joining the Cook County Commission on Human Rights for a panel discussion and resource fair featuring government housing agencies.
National Public Housing Museum, 919 S. Ada Street, Chicago, IL 60607
Join the National Public Housing Museum for an afternoon vendor market and workshops with local artists, makers, and other creative entrepreneurs.
From selling candy in Cabrini-Green Homes to doing hair in home-based salons in Houston, public housing residents and other low income communities leverage their creative practices and cooperative networks to sustain their families and build vibrant ecosystems, despite historical disinvestment.
FREE admission, hands-on workshops, and cake. Please register in advance.
This program is presented as part of our Empowerment Hub program, which is generously supported by Polk Bros. Foundation and the Kresge Foundation.
In addition to a spirited market featuring a diverse array of goods and services, this event features hands-on workshops led by creatives and organizers whose practices visualize, honor, document, adorn, and remember those people, places and practices that came before us.
List as of November 20, 2025
We’re also teaming up with the Chicago Coalition to End Homelessness to collect donations during the event.
