You make it possible for the National Public Housing Museum to push the boundaries of what a museum can be.

Across the organization, stories of public housing come alive and spark our collective imagination about a future where all people have a place to call home. They are an invitation to learn from history in order to create positive, lasting changes for our communities.

“I support NPHM because I believe that housing is a human right. Decent, stable, affordable housing is the foundation of good health, success in school, and the ability to get and keep a job. Public housing is critical to the ecosystem of housing in the United States.

NPHM is amplifying the many stories of public housing residents across the country and educating the general public about housing issues. As a museum of conscience, it is also interrogating barriers, like systemic racism and disinvestment, that have prevented public housing authorities from living up to their mission of developing and operating safe, decent, and sanitary housing. I am hopeful that because of institutions like NPHM, one day, everyone will have a place to call home.”
