Our events leverage arts, culture, and storytelling to impact public policy through engaging participants in explorations of the provocative ideas of innovative contemporary artists, scholars, and organizers. Ranging from small group oral history listening sessions to genre-spanning outdoor concerts, our robust programs have something to offer for everyone.

One Book, One Chicago Book Club

This fall, the National Public Housing Museum partners with the Chicago Public Library Little Italy Branch and One Book, One Chicago to read Olga Dies Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez and explore themes of community and displacement.

Past event partners include Save Section 9, Chicago Area Fair Housing Alliance, the CHA’s Local Advisory Councils, Red Line Service, and other on-the-ground housing activist organizations, as well as other cultural institutions including the the National Museum of Mexican Art, the Chicago Cultural Center, the Smart Museum of Art, the Chicago Public Library Little Italy Branch and more. 

We also partner with community groups and small businesses including the Taylor Street Farms, the Little Italy Chicago Neighborhood Association, Scafuri Bakery, and more.
